For the purpose of the 29th summer Olympic Games Beijing 2008, this International Competition for Concept Design of Beijing “City Landmark” 2008 is organized by Beijing Municipal Planning Commission as authorized by Beijing Municipal Government. The competition, which is open to globe-wide design organizations and individuals, including teachers and students, in the field of architecture, art, engineering and other relevant disciplines, is intended to solicit the design of a landscape landmark, and to enrich the urban landscape of the Olympic Green.

Application for competition will be accepted as from July 22, 2005, and the result will be announced on September 9, 2005, with credentials and money awards given to the winners of 6 excellence and 10 encouragement prizes at the same time.
